Thumbelina

No bigger than a thumb, Thumbelina is carried off by a toad and weathers a long winter in a field mouse's burrow. Her kindness to a frozen swallow becomes her rescue, carrying her to warm lands, a tiny winged prince, and shimmering wings of her own.
