Welcome to SoriStory. By accessing or using our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using SoriStory, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a minor, you accept these Terms on their behalf and are responsible for their use of the Service.
2. Description of Service
SoriStory is an AI-powered storytelling platform that allows users to:
- Create personalized stories using artificial intelligence
- Generate custom AI voice narrations
- Clone voices for story narration purposes
- Create and manage family profiles with profile-specific recommendations, histories, and libraries
- Build and manage personal and family story libraries
- Share and unshare stories, collections, and eligible voices with selected family profiles or family members
- Listen with translated narration, translated captions, and read-along experiences
3. Account Registration
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete registration information
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
4. User Content
4.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you create, upload, or submit through the Service, including story prompts, voice recordings, and custom stories ("User Content").
4.2 License to Us
By submitting User Content, you grant SoriStory a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and store your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This license terminates when you delete your content or account.
4.3 AI-Generated Content
Stories and content generated by our AI systems based on your inputs are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share AI-generated stories with family and friends. Commercial use of AI-generated content requires a separate license.
4.4 Family Profiles and Sharing
Family profiles are managed by the adult account holder. You are responsible for the child profiles, family members, sharing choices, and content visibility settings connected to your account.
- When you share User Content with family members or family profiles, you authorize SoriStory to display, store, play, translate, and sync that content for the selected recipients until it is unshared, deleted, or otherwise removed.
- You must have the rights and permissions needed to share any story, collection, voice, name, likeness, or other content through the Service.
- We may hide or remove shared access when content is unshared, a family member or profile is removed or deleted, or when removal is needed for safety, legal, or policy reasons.
- Recently Deleted and restore windows for individual stories, voices, child profiles, and profile-owned stories are limited recovery features. They do not apply after account deletion.
5. Voice Cloning
By using our voice cloning feature, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the owner of the voice being cloned, or you have explicit written consent from the voice owner
- You will not use cloned voices for deceptive, fraudulent, or harmful purposes
- You understand that cloned voices will be used solely within the SoriStory platform for story narration
- You authorize SoriStory and its service providers to process your voice recordings, including original raw samples and cleaned or prepared samples, to create, maintain, restore, or re-create your voice clone when you enable related features
- You understand that optional cloud voice backup can be turned on or off in the app, and disabling it stops future voice sample backups but does not by itself delete existing voice models or data already needed to provide the Service
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Create content that is harmful, abusive, violent, or inappropriate for children
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our AI models
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Use the Service to generate spam, phishing, or malicious content
- Circumvent any access controls or usage limits
- Share your account credentials with third parties
7. Subscription and Payments
SoriStory offers both free and paid subscription tiers:
7.1 Free Tier
SoriStory includes a free tier. The full curated library of classic stories is available to all users at no cost. Current free usage limits are shown in the app.
7.2 SoriStory+
SoriStory+ is an auto-renewable subscription that provides unlimited story creation and includes family sharing.
- The price, free trial length, and billing period are shown in the App Store or Google Play, and in the app, before you purchase. Prices vary by country and currency.
- Family sharing is included: adults you invite to your Family Circle receive SoriStory+ features while they remain in your Circle, at no additional charge
7.3 Billing and Cancellation
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's subscription settings (Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Google Play → Subscriptions)
- Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription
- Refunds are subject to the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play
8. Intellectual Property
The SoriStory name, logo, and all related trademarks, designs, and intellectual property are owned by SoriStory. You may not use our branding without prior written permission.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- AI-generated content will be perfectly accurate or appropriate in all cases
- Voice clones will be exact replicas of the original voice
Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing content delivered to children through the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoriStory shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Termination and Account Deletion
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app. Upon account deletion, we perform a strict "Hard Wipe" of your data, permanently destroying your stories, collections, cloned voices, backed-up voice samples, voice backup metadata, and profile metadata. Your data cannot be recovered after account deletion, even if an individual story, voice, or child profile would otherwise have been inside an in-app restore window. 12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
